Aha, drawing in a new style again :dummy:
I hope you guys don't mind my tendancy to try out different ways to draw ; w ;

This is a new character for a story I wrote called "Scrapping the Sky", his name is temporarily Mr. Black Rabbit. He is an archer and he lives in the forest. Another illustration of him will be uploaded...soon? XD I'm not gonna say much about the plot and other characters yet, because I want to finish writing the story first, but the prequel is already done~ :D

Sorry for not updating as often as before, I'm trying to focus on my art studies (aka. school) :) I'm currently in an illustration design program and I'm having a blast! Still hesitating whether to post my school works here though. Almost none of them are in a manga-like style...

Anyways, hope you're all having a great summer and good luck to those who have exams coming up! :dance:

Thank you for every Comment, Critique, Fav and/or +Watch!
I really do appreciate the support :hug:

I like how the hair strands look like single strands:juggle:

Heyyy, he looks familiar! :D I love the background, too, btw, esp. those colors. Insofar as critiques... try loading it in Photoshop and mirroring the canvas. (It's a very good way to 'step back' and take notice of things that we get used to seeing.) The 'angle lines' of his eyes and mouth don't quiiiite match, and there's parts of the coloring that look more volumetric than others. (For example, the brow over his eye compared to the flatness of his chest/shirt collar.)

Haha, he should ;D Spent a whole semester designing and drawing this character in action XD
Thanks for the compliment and critique ^_^
"Angle lines" as in the horizontal elipses that help situate facial features on a curve depending on the angle of the head, right?
And I agree that the shirt lacks volume compared with the face >_<"
I wanted the face to be the focus and everything else to be secondary.

*nodnod* Those are the lines I was talking about. And I agree that the face is the focus, but remember that areas of the greatest contrast are where the eye goes. (And apparently they've done studies -- the human eye tends to naturally seek out eyes or faces in an image. So you should be safe boosting a little more dept into his shirt.)

Aaand just tossing a little critique while I can XD
I think his collar looks a bit flat so maybe you should add some folds especially where it curves into his neck. Well I'm pretty much elaborating what Brandy said haha XD
