Description

This was super fun to draw! It also took some time to finish, but I'm happy that I managed to take the idea that was in my head and put it onto paper :la:

I often see drawings that are taken to photoshop and then flipped to create a symmetrical (miroror-like) design (like the royal cards in a card deck). However, I wanted to switch it up so I decided to try drawing an image that looks flipped, but that i's actually different. Since Roxas is Sora's Nobody, I thought it would be fun to try doing a mirror-like design of these two characters :)

Available as a print (12x18") sold at Otakuthon!

Thank you for every Comment, Critique, Fav and/or +Watch!
I really do appreciate the support

In this artwork I see two boys on opposite ends, similar to the king of cards in a card deck; with a single key that separates both sides. Various small black creatures are shown with the two boys, as well as patterns around the characters. The colours create a dreamy-like effect, especially with the use of blue. But the most element that is used to create a dream effect is the colours are spread/blurred around the artwork with no crisp lines where the colour disappears.

As I view this piece, my eyes sees it as a whole and completed piece of artwork. The main elements used are: colour, line, and shape.
The colours that are used are shades of blue, which help create a dreamy and tranquil feeling when viewing this artwork; because this artwork is not the traditional subject and background/foreground the blurred and colours that are spread out with no clear line helps fill up the need for a background.

The use of line is nicely executed, as all the lines are the same thickness which creates a harmonious effect, as there are not parts that stand out, and the same line thickness helps blend the artwork together. Another plus for the use of lines is that it helps create a kind of background around the characters; shapes that don't really have a meaning except for completing the artwork.

Various shapes are used to create a filling for the artwork, and it blends very nicely with the characters and objects. It creates the sense that the shapes belong with the characters, as if it's a part of them.

The main principle used is harmony. All the art elements used create a harmonious effect, which is very pleasing to the eye.
When I view this artwork, I feel a little sad, because of the cool colours, and the characters seem to have sombre or melancholy atmosphere around them.

Overall I find this a interesting artwork, as I feel as if it contains your style. Even if it's a fan artwork, you've made it your own by infusing your own style and feelings into it.
The only improvement I could suggest is, maybe adding a bit more tone would improve the piece overall. The simplicity is good on the other hand.
Great work.
